World Environment Day 2023
World Environment Day, celebrated on June 5th each year, raises global awareness and promotes action for environmental protection. Established by the UN in 1972, it focuses on specific themes annually, urging individuals, communities, organizations, and governments to address environmental issues and support sustainability. Through activities like tree planting, clean-ups, and education, World Environment Day inspires eco-friendly choices, resource conservation, pollution reduction, and collaboration.

On June 3rd, The Nature of Giving, Barathi Theertha, and the Rotary Club of Naperville worked together to organize an event at the Naperville Nichols Library to honor this day. Many people came to celebrate this day, along with the Metropolitan Water District commissioners Patricia Theresa Flynn and Marcelino Garcia. They presented how they have worked to contribute to the environment, and were applauded for their amazing service.
